Alexander High School Student Emerges as UIL Spelling Champion

Listen to this Post Courtesy Alex Meyer, (Laredo, Texas)-Andrew Riojas, an 11th grader at Alexander High School, is UIL State Champion in Spelling.  He first competed at the District level and the Regional level, and won 1st Place in both competitions. Riojas then advanced to State and won 1st Place with a score of 95.

School organizations set-up food/snack and game booths to help their clubs raise funds. The fiesta entertainment included performances by school band, cheerleaders, choir and AFJROTC Armed/Unarmed Drill Teams.

Alexander Senior Receives Congressional and Academic Recognitions

Magnet, was recently honored by Congressman Henry Cuellar for13 consecutive years of perfect attendance and academic excellence. Campos’ impressive list of accomplishments at Alexander High School includes recognition as the District 29-5A 6th Man of the Year during her sophomore year and 29-6A Co-MVP during her junior year. She also gained acknowledgment from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches when she was named to the All Region Team.  She garnered yet another title as the Laredo Times All-City and TABC All-Region Team. She also made the cut as a Sweet 16 /Regional Semi-Finalist.
