Grandparents Day at De Llano Elementary School

(Laredo, Texas)-Recently, De Llano elementary school hosted Grandparents Day. Over 230 family members were greeted by Principal Diana Korrodi and staff.
The special guests were treated to a sweetbread and coffee reception, then escorted to classrooms where they participated in creative activities with their grandchildren.
“The children appreciate that their grandparents have taken time to visit them in their respective classrooms. It also gives them a unique opportunity to become familiarized with our teachers and their work in an actual classroom setting.”, said Korrodi. Established in 1978,Grandparents Day is observed nationally to spotlight how grandparents and their positive influence encourages children to seek knowledge through good reading and studying habits.
