Courtesy Rocio Moore, (Laredo, Texas)-Webb County presented United I.S.D with some additional capital totaling $2,086,052.16. The source of the money is the Permanent School Land Fund, which is an arrangement that permits Webb County to act as a land trustee for all three school districts in the county. A majority of the revenues are derived from petroleum royalties, cattle grazing and hunting leases on 10,000 acres of school land located in the northern part of Webb County.
