LISD Class of 2011 to Receive Diplomas

Courtesy Roberto Treviño,  The Laredo Independent School District’s graduating class of 2011 will be receiving their high school diplomas during commencement ceremonies scheduled for Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3.  Commencement ceremonies for Cigarroa, Martin, and Nixon High Schools are scheduled for Thursday, June 2, at the Laredo Energy Arena (LEA).  Graduation day begins

American Legion Post 669 Ladies Auxiliary to distribute Poppies in Observance of Memorial Day

Courtesy Roberto Treviño, The American Legion Post 669 Ladies Auxiliary will be handing out  Poppies to students at Memorial Middle School tomorrow May 26th from 8:30a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in observance of Memorial Day. The ladies will explain the significance of the Poppies to the students and how this project relates to Memorial Day.  

Alma Pierce Elementary Students to make Donation to Alabama Tornado Victims

Courtesy Roberto Treviño, Alma Pierce Elementary School students and staff  will make a  donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for the  victims of the tornadoes in Alabama. American Red Cross Branch Manager Isela Sanchez will accept the donation. Alma Pierce’s donation enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance
