UISD Elementary Educator of the Year for 2021:

(Laredo, Texas)-It was a scene filled with anticipation and joy. This year’s annual UISD Employee Awards Banquet was held at Elias Herrera Middle School’s cafetorium and featured entertainment by the Elias Herrera Hawk Jazz Band, directed by Jorge Garcia. Highlights of the evening included awards for Teachers Of The Year, Instructional/Non -Instructional Paraprofessional, and Auxiliary Employees Of The Year. Each winner was presented with an award by the Board of Trustees and Superintendent of Schools Roberto J. Santos.
The Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year will select and drive new automobiles from the Powell Watson Auto Group for one full year at no cost to them. The runners-up for the Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year Awards received $1,500.00 gift certificates from Ashley Home Store of Laredo. The UISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Roberto J. Santos wishes to thank all award recipients for their commitment to excellence.
