May is Proclaimed as National Bike Month in Laredo

LAREDO, Texas— The City of Laredo Mayor, Pete Saenz, virtually proclaimed May as National Bike Month in Laredo. The Laredo & Webb County Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (LWCAMPO) and several entities, year by year, partner up to advocate for bicycle safety and active transportation. The City of Laredo has been working with the community to meet, discuss, and plan better ways in which citizens can benefit from diversified modes of transportation, such as bicycles. The City and LWCAMPO continue working with local organizations such as Bike Laredo, the Laredo Cycling Association, Laredo Main Street, and others to encourage the public to use their bicycles to commute to work, school, go shopping or for recreational purposes.
During the month of May, the community can take the opportunity to participate in a number of activities planned throughout the city. Everyone can also partake to celebrate National Bike to Work Week 2021 from May 17 to May 23 or National Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 21, 2021.
