The survey presents residents with an opportunity to share input related to the City’s annual budget

Laredo, TEXAS – The City of Laredo has launched a public input survey focusing on key service areas related to the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget. The survey was initially proposed by District 8 Council Member, Alyssa Cigarroa, with an ultimate goal to engage with the community and capture their feedback related to the city’s annual budget. Results from the survey will be used as a tool to inform City Council on budgetary decisions for the next fiscal year. The survey is available in English and Spanish, primarily online, but is also available in print format throughout the city and even over the phone through 3-1-1.

Along with the survey, the City will implement various outreach efforts to bring awareness to the initiative and encourage survey participation from residents across the entire city. This includes promotion via the city’s social media pages, website, and through community partnerships. As an incentive, anyone who completes the survey will have an opportunity to enter a raffle to win bicycles and H-E-B gift cards. In order to participate in the raffle, survey responders must input their information. The survey, however, can be anonymous if responders do not wish to give their personal information.

“This survey is a crucial ingredient in reflecting the community that we serve, especially after this tough year,” states Council Member Cigarroa. “With the pandemic and the recent winter storm, it is even more pressing that we stay connected to the community’s changing needs and priorities. We encourage all Laredoans to use their voice to better shape our city.”

The survey is now available and can be accessed through the websites below:
