(Laredo, Texas)-Students from United High School (UHS) held two donation drives in September and October to benefit United ISD’s McKinney Vento and Migrant programs. In September, the Longhorns worked together to donate a total of 324 blankets to the programs. In October or Socktober, as it is known every year at UHS, the students donated 1,180 pairs of socks. The UHS students worked very hard to gather donations and ensure that the McKinney Vento and MIgrant programs had all the items they needed.
UHS students are also hosting a turkey and food drive this month, and a Christmas gift and toy drive in December. United High School’s administrative team would like to thank the Longhorn students for continuing to come together to lend their support, despite the pandemic.
