(Laredo, Texas)-Graduation ceremonies for United ISD high school seniors initially planned for May 29 and May 30, 2020, have been postponed due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. The district plans to hold graduation ceremonies for its four high schools on July 31 and August 1, 2020, at the Sames Auto Arena. Depending upon the progression of the virus and state and local restrictions, United ISD is planning on hosting live graduation ceremonies.
If local and state restrictions remain in place, the district is planning for virtual graduation ceremonies. Superintendent of Schools, Roberto J. Santos, stated, “These kids have worked so hard throughout their school careers, so it’s important to us to celebrate and honor them in a manner that they deserve. Depending on where we are as a community at that time, we will celebrate their achievements accordingly.
I want to extend warm congratulations to our 2020 graduates and their families. We will get through this together.”
The graduations are scheduled to be held at the Sames Auto Arena, as follows:
