Item 90 on Yesterday’s Court Agenda to be Investigated by County


(Laredo, Tx)- After yesterdays closed session discussion on item 90,  a discrimination charge filed by county employee Sara Alicia Davila.  Ana Laura Cavazos advised that the county would conduct an investigation on the matter claiming that there was little to no information that accompanied the complaint.   After the meeting in an opportunity to ask the county attorney three brief questions under the watchful eye of Webb County Commissioner Pct.1 Frank Sciaraffa.  Cavazos was asked about the presence of the EEOC during the closed session meeting in which she answered that they were not present at the time.  In a  second question she was asked about the length of time that the county would take to conduct the investigation which she then stated would be 180 days she was then asked about the content of the complaint and whether it went into detail about the discrimination charge listing names or any other complaint she answered no.  

The following is item 90 as listed on yesterday’s Webb County Court’s Agenda:  Discussion and possible action to authorize the office of the Webb County Attorney Ana Laura Cavazos to represent Webb County and its officials or employees in connection with a charge of discrimination filed by Sara Alicia Davila with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission;  EEOC Charge No 451-2011-01561; and any other matters incidant there to.  (Executive Session is requested pursuant to Texas Government Code, Title 5, Sub Chapter D, Section 551.071 (Consultation with attorney).
