Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Individuals for Aggravated Kidnapping

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On May 2, 2011, The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division arrested three male subjects from Laredo Texas, on Aggravated Kidnapping Charges.
At approximately 2:00 a.m. Deputies noticed a Green Ford Expedition traveling westbound on Highway 359 at a high rate of speed. After conducting traffic stop Deputies observed four male occupants behaving very suspiciously. During the course of the traffic stop the Deputies discovered that one of the individuals had been kidnapped at gunpoint from his residence in the San Carlos Sub-Division.
The 21 year old victim had been struck with the pistol that the Deputies had found and had injuries to his forehead. Deputies also recovered a .380 caliber handgun used in the offense. All three suspects were arrested and transported to the Webb County Jail and are pending magistration. Arrested for the offense of Aggravated Kidnapping and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity were 21 year old Abraham Linares, 47 year old Romeo Hinojosa Jr., and 25 year old Carlos Osvaldo Zambrano who was also charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
“I am proud of the work our Deputies performed in this case. This crime was not reported to us, the Deputies being alert and proactive are what lead to the apprehension of the suspects, and this also may have saved the victims life”. The motive for this crime is still under investigation”, Stated Sheriff Martin Cuellar.
