Sheriff Martin Cuellar is asking the community to please join us in this cause.  Webb County residents are facing extreme hardships due to the loss of their homes and or personal items such as clothes, appliances, furniture etc.  The Webb County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a donation drive for these families. This drive will continue all of next week Monday, July 19th through Friday, July 23rd, 2010 at the Sheriff’s Office parking lot located downtown at 902 Victoria Street,  from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.  A trailer courtesy of STI (Super Transportation International, L.T.D.) has been set up in order to make this drive possible.

Flood victims are in need of the following items:

New or gently used furniture, appliances, mattresses, bedding and towels, as well as cleaning supplies and toiletries, hygiene items and all matter of baby items, such as strollers, car seats, cribs, etc.

“I challenge the residents of Webb County to assist these families that are in desperate need.  I am proud to say that the County of Webb has a tremendous reputation in helping its fellow neighbor and this is one of those desperate times.  I want to thank those that have assisted these past few days and hope to see a great turnout on these efforts”.
