Mayor Salinas Helps Honor Moms

City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas participated in the Mother’s Day Celebration held at the Santa Maria Day Care Center, helping to crown the oldest and youngest mother of the day. Mrs. Graciela Leija, (left), was honored as the oldest mother, while Mrs. Maria F. Torres, (right) was the youngest. A dance and celebration followed after the coronation and each mom was presented with a beautiful rose.
“Mother’s Day is always a special and bittersweet day for me, because it brings to mind so many beautiful memories of my wonderful mama,” said Salinas. “I’m humbled to honor all of our mothers. I wish a very happy and special mother’s day to all Laredo moms,” he concluded.
