Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Tuesday, at approximately 9:15pm, Webb County Sheriff’s Office deputies were traveling south bound on FM 1472 when they noticed a white vehicle, approximately 3 miles south of FM 255, on the side of the road with its emergency lights on.
Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies observed two subjects run towards the brush. Deputies also noticed a large black bundle on the ground next to the opened rear passenger door. Deputies further noticed the driver of the vehicle was still inside. The driver was immediately detained and an additional three more large bundles were found inside the vehicle. Upon checking the bundles, deputies confirmed they had marijuana.
The total weight of the four bundles was 300 pounds with an estimated street value of $90,000. The driver, who was identified as Juan Andres Moreno, 17, from Laredo, Texas, was charged with possession of marijuana, felony 2. He was remanded to the Webb County Jail with a $20,000 bond.
