This week the City of Laredo, Chief Carlos Maldonado and the Laredo Police Department donated a pair of Police edition Harley Davidson motorcycles to the Laredo Independent School District Police Department’s Chief, Lonnie Cook, in order to increase patrol presence in their busiest school zones. With back to school just a few weeks away the new equipment will come in good use for the drastic increase in school zone pedestrian activity and vehicular traffic. The bikes will help make the enforcement more mobile and enhance the rate of enforcement so that the children can have a safe school zone all year round. These motorcycles were from the fleet of LPD motorcycles. They are in good working condition and are estimated in value at approximately $20,000 each.
