Valentine Baskets Have Requirements Permits, Regulations Required to Sell Valentines and other Holiday Treats

Laredo, TX—January 20, 2011—As the Valentine’s Day holiday approaches, the City of Laredo Building Development Services Department would like to remind all local vendors that they must have a permit if they plan on selling Valentine baskets or other holiday treats.  A 2004 City of Laredo ordinance requires vendors to have a private premises vendor’s permit, along with other requirements, to be able to sell their wares on Laredo by-ways. (Laredo, Tx) CenterPoint Energy crews will be closing the street between San Jorge and Iturbide to repair a gas leak in the area of the Azteca neighborhood. Please follow all detour signs. The closures will last approximately all day today, THURSDAY, January 20, 2011.

 DEL RIO, TEXAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry during the busy Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend kept their eyes sharp and seized alleged cocaine valued at $1.7 million in a vehicle driven by a local man.  The seizure occurred on Jan. 14 at the International Bridge . Local Man Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

(Laredo, Tx) Ramon A. Villafranca, Jr., Chief Prosecutor for the Special Victims Unit of the District Attorney’s Office presented the case of Javier Alejandro Perez of 1011 Laurel Drive to the Grand Jury of the 406th District Court.  Perez is charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.  The Grand Jury returned an indictment and Perez is now facing up to ten years in prison for each count.
