(Laredo, Tx) Ramon A. Villafranca, Jr., Chief Prosecutor for the Special Victims Unit of the District Attorney’s Office presented the case of Javier Alejandro Perez of 1011 Laurel Drive to the Grand Jury of the 406th District Court. Perez is charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography. The Grand Jury returned an indictment and Perez is now facing up to ten years in prison for each count. The three counts derive from images in which children are depicted engaging in actual sexual intercourse, lewd exposure of genitalia and actual sexual deviant intercourse.
The charges stem from a tip to the Office of the Texas Attorney General’s Cyber Crimes Unit in late 2008. An investigation began in which Perez’ Internet usage was monitored and traced to his personal email address and workplace computer.
Perez will be tried by the Special Victims Unit in the 406th District Court.
