LISD launches Health and Wellness Summer Camp

 As summertime hits Laredo, most schoolchildren are sleeping- in, but not Alexis Carrillo, a third grade student at Farias Elementary School. She starts her mornings with 30 minutes of intense power walking and jogging exercises followed by 30 minutes of vigorous non-elimination games. Just about every morning, you can see Alexis and her 25 classmates pumping their arms and kicking their legs to a healthier lifestyle.

 Webb County officials as well as representatives from the Sheriff’s Department will be on hand Friday, June 18 for the formal signing of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Webb County and the Sheriff’s Bargaining Unit.
     The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at Commissioners Court located in the Webb County Courthouse, 1000 Houston Street and is also open to the public.

Mayor Salinas Hosts Flag Day Ceremony

City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas hosted a very patriotic Flag Day ceremony at the City Hall Flag Pole. Webb County to Hold Blood Drive

 The Webb County Administrative Services Department is teaming up with the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center to hold a blood drive this Thursday, June 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Billy Hall Jr. Administration Building.  The drive will be held in conference room 1A located on the first floor at 1110 Washington Street.

Police Make Arrest in 3 points Park Vandalism Case

On Monday, June 15, 2010 approximately a few minutes after midnight LPD officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Cortez (Three Points Park) in reference to a criminal mischief in progress.  Laredo dispatch said that two anonymous callers were reporting to police that there were three male subjects in the park shooting a BB gun.  One caller described one subject wearing a red cap with white shirt and the second subjects wearing a black shirt.  The caller further advised of a third subject riding a bicycle.  As …

June 15th, LAREDO, TX- The Broncos roster, under the guidance of manager Dan Firova continues to evolve just 18 games into the 2010 season.  On Monday, June 14th, a day after arriving home from an eight game road trip in which the Broncos went 3-5, the Broncos cut ties with CL Jonathan Miller, and CF Bradley Goldsmith.
