United ISD Joins the Cause to Help Raise Awareness for Cancer

Cancer survivors and United Independent School District employees, Terry Alvarado and Marta Flores, joined City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas and other community partners to help proclaim the month of October as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” To help promote awareness of cancer, the school district will have a Districtwide “Pink Cancer Awareness Day” on October 12 to remind everyone about the importance of early detection and regular medical check ups. Ms. Alvarado and Ms. Flores are pictured holding the Proclamation along with Mayor Salinas.
