City Donates PD Vehicles to Encinal

(Laredo, Tx)-Phasing out the white Crown Victoria police vehicles, the Laredo Police Department sold two of these fully equipped cars for $1.00 each to the City of Encinal Police Department.“We are proud to be able to work with our neighbor and ‘sell’ these vehicles at a very reasonable rate to a city that will be able to extend the life of these great cars that served ourcommunity so well,” said Cm. Vera.
These vehicles boast the police package features, which include the heavy duty engine, cooling and braking system and have a radio, light bar, siren and cage for securing prisoners. All Laredo Police Department and City of Laredo emblems have been removed.
“These are still serviceable, well-maintained vehicles, but since the Laredo Police Department has purchased different vehicles, we wanted to provide these vehicles to a neighboring law enforcement agency who could get good use of them,” said Asst. Police Chief Navarro.
