(Laredo, Texas)-An experienced and dedicated public servant officially joined the Laredo College Board of Trustees on Jan. 12, rounding off the nine-member, citizen-led panel that serves as the official governing body for the two-campus college district.
Cindy Liendo was elected on Nov. 8, 2022. With over 14 years of experience as a public official, she is ready to assume her position as trustee for position 2. Part of her experience comes from formerly serving as a Laredo City Council member from 2008 to 2014, a Laredo Independent School District Board member from 2016 to 2018 and as a Webb County Commissioner from 2018 to 2022.
“I am excited to work with the Laredo College family to continue to ignite excellence and want to thank the voters of Laredo who have supported my public service,” Liendo said.
Liendo, a lifelong resident of Laredo, is grateful for the opportunity to help shape the growth of our community. As a member of the Laredo College Board of Trustees, she looks forward to working with the rest of the board, administration and staff to continue offering quality and affordable education to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Her commitment to community service goes back many years with roles such as girl scout troop leader, democratic precinct chair, member of the Laredo Commission for Women, Habitat Women Build, TAMIU MPA Advisory Board, Teens in the Driver Seat Advisory Board, Women’s City Club Board, Border Region Board and South Texas Development Council.
We are excited to welcome her into the Laredo College family as our institution continues its legacy of igniting excellence in our community and offering world-class, affordable education and workforce training to the people of South Texas.
