City of Laredo Calls Upon Volunteers to Assist in COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

Courtesy Isabel Sosa,

LAREDO, Texas — The City of Laredo Emergency Operation Center is preparing for the upcoming mass vaccination drives.

As the City of Laredo requested large amounts of vaccines, we will be requiring additional help to be able to vaccinate as many people as possible in a safe and swift manner. For this reason, we request volunteers that are willing to contribute their time and expertise.

The vaccination drives will take place at different sites throughout the city including, but not limited to, municipal buildings, schools, and other partner entities.

The volunteers’ profiles include: a) adults with medical experience who can vaccinate other people and b) non-medical volunteers who are at least 16 years of age, such as students that need community hours and can assist with traffic control, registration, ushering, guidance, etc.

All volunteers will be assigned tasks according to the site’s needs and they will receive a briefing/training prior to the vaccination drive.

To register, all interested volunteers must send an email to Edgar Campos at ercampos@ci.laredo.tx.us or call the Laredo Volunteer Center at 956-635-9030.

The email must include the following:

• Full Name

• Date of birth

• Phone number

• Statement if you are a medical volunteer or not (if you have medical experience, make sure to include your license)

If you know of someone that would be suitable to volunteer, please share this information and follow the Laredo Volunteer Center Facebook page to learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
