Author Shawn Elliott Russell Visits Two United ISD Middle Schools

(Laredo, Texas)-Author and motivational speaker Shawn Elliott Russell recently visited the Los Obispos and Washington Middle School campuses to make presentations based oh his book entitled “Be Still, Little Tree, Be Still”. The author wrote the book after overcoming anxiety and health issues that left him jobless, home-bound, and terrified. “I was desperate to live a normal life again. Over the course of two years, I faced my deepest fears and got my life back, becoming braver and stronger than ever before. I felt grateful and I wanted to share what I had learned so that maybe it could help other people” said Russell.
In addition to being an author, Russel is also a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant with years of experience in pediatric clinics, and has spent over 10 years of his life performing and mentoring youth in various settings including the Boys & Girls Club of America in two states. Students at both campuses were fully immersed in interactive presentations that inspired hope and courage, and also taught fundamental skills for emotional wellness and lifelong success.
