United High School Student Senior Signs Scholarship to Schreiner University

United High School’s senior Francisco Ramirez accepted a full-ride competitive shooting scholarship to Schreiner University. His parents, Francisco and Yolanda Ramirez, beamed with pride as their son signed for the four-year scholarship during a formal ceremony held inside United High School’s library. Schreiner University is located in Kerville, Texas . In addition to joining a collegiate level competitive shooting team , Ramirez also has plans to major in Engineering. He developed his considerable marksmanship skills through the 4H Dusters Sports Shooting Program, which teaches responsible and safe use of firearms alongside the principles of competitive shooting.
His accomplishments in competitive shooting include 1st place awards at the National level in the sporting place and trap divisions, and two state level Grand Champion titles from the San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo and the Houston Stock show rodeo. “I am extremely excited about the opportunity and most of all thankful to my parents for their love and support, said Ramirez.”
Francisco is a 4-year member of the Longhorn FFA Organization where he learned how to raise market ready show lambs. He is also an 8-year member of the 4H Dusters shooting sports organization.
