(Laredo, Texas)-The United ISD Police Department welcomed 5 new officers during a pinning ceremony held on Friday, February 23. The induction boosted the district’s police force to a total of 81officers.
In order to fortify the level of safety at all campuses, the United ISD Police Department has developed plans to hire more licensed officers within a short period of time. The additional staffing will also satisfy the need for police officers at new campuses that are projected to open within the next few months.
“Our new officers have accepted the honor and the responsibility that comes with being members of the United ISD Police Department. The safety of our students, teachers and staff is paramount, and I thank our Board of Trustees for ensuring that we have the resources and manpower to maintain high safety standards at all of our schools and facilities”, said Superintendent Roberto J. Santos.
