United ISD Police Department Welcomes Five New Officers

Laredo, Texas – UNITED ISD; Family, friends and fellow law enforcement personnel gathered at the United ISD Police Department to celebrate five newly sworn-in officers. A special ceremony was held and led by Police Chief, Ray Garner to mark the beginning of a law enforcement career with United ISD. Officers took oath in front of their family, friends and law enforcement colleagues and were officially pinned by their loved ones.
The United ISD Police Department is comprised of 76 sworn peace officers, 111 security officers, 3 K-9 Handlers, 5 Radio Operators and 5 staff members. All police officers of this department are licensed peace officers of the State of Texas. They have full arrest powers and all rights, privileges and immunities similar to municipal police officers.
Additionally, officers are assigned to F.T.O. Program, Honor Guard, Safety Patrol Program, and U-Watch. These units work in conjunction with local law enforcement authorities and other related departments. The focus of all officers is to work as a positive influence on students and to protect the schools by providing a safe learning environment.
The United ISD Police Department continues their commitment and dedication to the safety and welfare of all students, staff, and visitors of the district. United ISD Police Officers serve as positive mentors and role models to our students and enhance safety awareness.
