U.H.S. Senior Clinches Cross Country Scholarship at U.T.

(Laredo, Texas)-United High School (U.H.S.) senior Jose T. Munoz was joined by his parents to sign his cross-country scholarship to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas. Munoz has been a member of the Longhorn cross-country team for the past four years,and became a qualifier this year. Coach Eduardo Gonzalez referred to Munoz as one of the hardest working and most dedicated athletes he has ever worked with. “Jose will go up against some tough competition at UT, but I know he will do well because he has the heart of a champion”, said Gonzalez. Munoz thanked his parents and coaches for supporting him every step of the way to his success.
“I have been working hard to reach this goal, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given” said Munoz, who offered a bit of advice to his peers during his interview with United Insider-
“Never give up on your dreams, and remember that hard work is the root of success”. Munoz plans to study sports medicine and develop his skills as a certified athletic trainer.
