HISPANIC HERITAGE YOUTH AWARDED TO UNITED SOUTH

(Laredo, Texas)-The Hispanic Heritage Award identifies, inspires, promotes and prepares Latino leaders through national leadership, cultural, educational and workforce programs. The Awards are considered among the highest honors for Hispanics. Approximately 10,000 applications are collected from qualified seniors who have an average GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students receive grants for education or community projects to encourage social innovation and entrepreneurship. Youth Awards begin with a high profile, national search through a celebrity-based multimedia campaign that includes partnerships with more than 5,000 high schools and hundreds of colleges, media, elected officials, businesses and organizations.

This prestigious award was bestowed to Four United South High School Students;

Jose A. Medrano, was selected as the 2016 Gold Award recipient for the Education category in the Houston region.

Anissa D. Hernandez,was selected as the 2016 Bronze Award recipient for the Education category in the Houston region. United South High School received two out of three award recognitions under the Education category.

Ingrid Jimenez, was selected as the 2016 Gold Award recipient for the Healthcare and Science category in the Houston region.

Adalberto Vargas, was selected as the 2016 Gold Award recipient for the Innovation & Technology category in the Dallas region.
