UISD Meet in the Middle Youth Leadership Summit

(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD hosts a youth leadership summit to encourage students to work on creating positive school environment.
Students from several United I.S.D. campuses spent some time talking about ways they can meet in the middle. Each Project UNIFY|Meet in the Middle (MiM) campus Youth Leadership Team is comprised of students with and without intellectual disabilities, who lead the way in changing attitudes and perceptions about people with intellectual disabilities while promoting advocacy, acceptance, friendship, fitness and sport opportunities.
Special guest J.C.Pohl, encouraged them to become leaders in creating a positive school climate. It’s a program developed by Special Olympics that focuses on social inclusion of all school student populations.
