Laredo, TX (Webb County) – An on-going investigation into the theft of dozens of radiators from a local business led the Webb County Sheriff’s Office to the arrest of a local man.

In late October, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft of radiators report at the Progresso Junk Yard on Highway 359. The owner of the business told authorities that an unknown person or persons broke into his property by cutting through a barbed wire fence and stole around 70 radiators.

On Wednesday, a follow up investigation by Webb County Sheriff Investigators led to the arrest of Rodolfo Matias Garza, 18, of the 200 block of Escandon, who confessed to his participation in this crime. Additional evidence at another business proved that Garza had sold the radiators for money.

The total value for the radiators stolen totaled more than $3,000, a State Jail Felony. Garza remains at the Webb County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
