(Laredo, Tx)-The Office of the District Attorney secured a guilty plea in its case against Jose Aguilera-Santos, 71, for indecency with a child.

On July 24, 2012, an indecency with a child report was made by a Child Advocacy Center forensic interviewer. She stated to police that while giving a presentation on child abuse awareness at a child care center, a little girl voiced concern about her step grandfather. The little girl known as “Jackie,” told the teacher and the forensic interviewer that her stepfather’s dad would touch her private part under and on top of her clothes and that he would also tell her to touch his private part.

On February 27, 2013, Aguilera-Santos was arrested and charged with two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony in the state of Texas.

Aguilera-Santos agreed to a plea deal where he will serve 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division.  He was sentenced this morning before the 49th District Court Judge Joe Lopez.

Assistant District Attorney Adam Muffett represented the State of Texas.
