Congratulations United ISD Krispy Kreme “Teachers of the Year!”

k(Laredo, Tx)-Today, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts announced three United Independent School District educators as winners of the store’s “Teacher of the Year” recognition program. The winners were as follows:  second place winner, John Paul Sanchez, an 8th grade keyboard teacher at Antonio Gonzalez Middle School.  First place winner, Itzamara Rendon, a fifth grade teacher at Fasken Elementary School.  

Teacher of the Year winner was Steve Paulson, a Pre-AP Physics teacher at United High School.  The Krispy Kreme Teacher of the Year” program recognizes three teachers in San Antonio, Austin, San Marcos, El Paso, and Laredo areas.  These individuals were nominated by members of their campus and community.  A panel of judges assembled by Krispy Kreme, headquartered in Austin, reviewed each application to determine the winners for the award. 

Each honoree received a Krispy Kreme gift basket and a check for themselves and their school.  Pictured from left to right are:  Randy Willard, CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Patricia Perez, Antonio Gonzalez Middle School principal, honoree Sanchez, Maria Isabel Alarcon, United High School assistant principal, honoree Paulson, honoree Rendon, Elousia Diaz, Fasken Elementary School principal, and David Castellano, Krispy Kreme general manager.  Honorees and guests were treated to doughnuts and ice cold milk after the award announcement.  The program is also done in partnership with Oak Farms/Hygeia/Price’s dairy products.
