(Laredo, Tx)-Several elementary school students from United I.S.D. received their first school supplies of the year in the form of backpacks filled with basic classroom necessities, courtesy of our local COSTCO distribution center. Each of the approximately 800 donated backpacks was filled with pencil pouches, pocket style folders, rulers, erasers, and children’s scissors.
Eric Bryntenson, Costco General Manager, along with members of his family, made an initial distribution of the backpacks during a press conference held at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex. “Costco is proud to be part of the United I.S.D. and Laredo community, and we enjoy the opportunity to help students get prepared for school”, said Brytenson. Roberto J. Santos, Superintendent, expressed that the District is very grateful to Costco for their annual donations of school supplies.
