Earlier today, Texas State Representative Richard Pena Raymond, City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas and Maria G. Soliz, manager of the Laredo Public Library, welcomed Deborah Littrel, director of the Library Development Division of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to receive a $35,265 Lone Star Library grant from the organization. (September 2nd, EDINBURG, TX)-The Broncos mustered only four hits in the ball game against four Road Runners pitchers, who combined for the first shut-out against the Broncos in 2010. All Laredo Independent School District campuses will be closed Monday, September 6, due to staff development training. LISD administration, faculty, and staff will report to work on Monday morning for their required staff development training.
However, there will be no classes for students on Monday due to staff development training. Students will resume their regular schedules on Tuesday, September 7.

Laredo, Texas – On Monday, August 30th, 2010, at approximately 8:30 p.m., An investigation by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration led to the interdiction of narcotics at a local hotel.
The seizure occurred at the 5900 block of San Bernardo. Upon arrival, officers discovered 912 pounds of marijuana stashed in the cab of a tractor trailer while it was parked at the hotel. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $461,472. Six subjects …

The Domestic Violence Unit of the District Attorney’s Office reports that Rolando Rene Rubio entered a guilty plea today in the 406th District Court and was sentenced to three years in jail by the Honorable Judge Oscar J. Hale.
Rubio has been incarcerated at the Webb County Jail ‘since his arrest and was brought into the courtroom in handcuffs. He pled guilty to having threatened his girlfriend with imminent bodily injury by pointing a firearm at her while keeping her unlawfully restrained against her will. The incident took place …
