Zaffirini Principal Takes Reading to New Heights!!

(Laredo, Tx)-As a reward for meeting their Accelerated Reading (AR) goals, Zaffirini elementary students enjoyed listening to Principal Claudia Y. Benavides read Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham from the top of a hydraulic lift. “Good reading habits helps students in all subject areas, and I promised our students that I would overcome my fear of heights and read a Dr. Seuss book aloud if they met their AR goals”.
The event was coordinated by Benavides, Librarian Celeste Munoa and Assistant Librarian Herminia Gonzalez. The AR program focuses on getting young students to develop good reading habits.
