Laredo Police Raid the Mystic Amusement Center

It was a busy Sunday for the Laredo Police Department as 2 search warrants were served at the Mystic Amusement Center at Shiloh and McPherson Ave and a residence of Ernesto Cuevas Villarreal, owner of the Mystic Amusement Center.  At approximately 3 pm the warrants were served simultaneously.  At the amusement center the Laredo police identified and photographed the customers inside the business (20) at the time of the raid.  They may be called as potential witnesses in a future criminal prosecution.  The police found $12,223 in currency …

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, 2009,  and Wednesday, November 4, 2009, the 2700 block of San Agustin, between Jefferson and Alamo, will be closed as ACS Construction crews will be installing water lines for a private development in the area, weather permitting.

LAREDO – Weather permitting November 2-4, 2009 from 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. on both days, temporary nighttime closures of IH 35 NB (northbound) and SB (southbound) will occur at the FM 1472 overpass project to facilitate installation of steel beams as part of the NB FM 1472 direct connector bridge.
All NB traffic will be required to exit at the Del Mar exit and use frontage road to access on-ramp south of Shiloh to return to NB IH 35.
SB IH 35 will be closed just south of Shiloh. …

The City of Laredo will be hosting its annual tree lighting ceremony, kicking off the Christmas season in our community.  This year, thanks to partners Laredo Center for the Arts, La Posada Hotel, Laredo Main Street and the Instituto Cultural de Mexico, the festivities will include a bevy of Christmas performances, traditional Mexican holiday foods, and arts & crafts, all while awaiting the arrival of Santa to officially help City of Laredo Mayor Raul G.  Since this past Saturday, the City of Laredo Public Works Division has been milling Del Mar Boulevard between San Dario and McPherson to prepare for future resurfacing of the street.  The milling division will be working on the outer edges of the street and the streets will not be closed to through traffic; the resurfacing will continue until Saturday, November 7, 2009, when motorists can expect intermittent road closures.  The work will be conducted between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.   Drivers are urged traffic to …
