City of Laredo Utilities Department to Begin Disconnections Starting July 6

LAREDO, Texas—On July 6, 2020, the City of Laredo Utilities Department will begin disconnecting for past due balances on utility accounts that were temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Late fees will also begin to incur on past due balances starting July 1, 2020.
The Department is aware of the financial hardships that this pandemic has caused our customers and halted the disconnection from March of this year because of the city’s Stay Home/Work Safe Order. Since the city’s order is ending on June 30, 2020, the Utilities Department like to notify our customers with past due balances to make payment or make payment arrangements with our customer service employees, or pay online, in order to avoid being disconnected and incur additional costs such as reconnection fees.
Customers can still apply for the COVID-19 utility relief program available online at https://citysearch.cityoflaredo.com/Docuware/Platform/WebClient/Forms/covid-19-relief-requirements?orgID=f776ca86-040b-4650-86a5-d1d1ce7a4e8b.
Customers who do not have an active account must contact the Utilities Department to set up an active account. Customers are highly encouraged to contact customer service at (956) 727-6402 for information and questions.
