Villareal Found Guilty Given the Maximum Punishment

(Laredo, Texas)-The District Attorney’s Office reports that a jury found Jose Arnulfo Villarreal guilty of DWI C/B on October 22, 2024. The trial, which took place before the Honorable County Court at Law #2 Judge Victor Villarreal, was presented to a jury over the course of two and half days and rendered their guilty verdict after 1.5 hours of deliberation.
After finding Villarreal guilty, Judge Villarreal ordered a PSI to be conducted, punishment was set for a later date. Villarreal failed to appear before the Judge on October 30, 2024 and a capias was issued for his arrest. On Monday, January 6, 2025, Villarreal voluntarily appeared at the County Court at Law #2 to commence his sentencing.
He has been sentenced to the maximum incarceration term of 180 days. Additionally, he was assessed a fine of $2,000, along with a superfine of $3,000.
