City of Laredo Welcomes New Assistant City Manager

LAREDO, TX— The City of Laredo is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Ramon Chavez as a new Assistant City Manager. Mr. Chavez, who has been a dedicated City of Laredo employee since 2005, began his career in the Utilities Department and has served as the City Engineer since January 2019.
City Manager Joseph Neeb expressed his enthusiasm for Mr. Chavez’s appointment, stating, “I am pleased to announce that Ramon Chavez has been selected as our new Assistant City Manager. Ramon brings a wealth of leadership experience, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to public service that will greatly benefit the City of Laredo as we continue to grow and evolve.”
During his extensive tenure with the City of Laredo, Mr. Chavez has played a pivotal role in managing and executing critical infrastructure projects, particularly during his time as City Engineer, contributing significantly to the city’s development and modernization. His deep understanding of engineering and project management and ability to foster collaboration and deliver results made him a standout candidate throughout the selection process.
