City of Laredo Hosted August’s “Project Excellence” to Honor Dedicated Employees

LAREDO, TX – The City of Laredo hosted August’s “Project Excellence” recognition event, developed in partnership with the City Managers’ Office and the Human Resources Department. This program aims to celebrate and honor the dedication and commitment of City of Laredo employees who have reached significant milestones in their years of service.

This month, “Project Excellence” recognized ten deserving employees celebrating a milestone anniversary of 30 or more continuous years of service with the City of Laredo. These individuals have shown unwavering dedication to their roles, consistently contributing to the city’s growth and success.

“Project Excellence” is an ongoing initiative that underscores the City of Laredo’s commitment to valuing and appreciating the hard work of its employees. By celebrating these significant anniversaries, the City acknowledges the vital role that long-serving employees play in maintaining the high standards of service that the community expects and deserves.

At Wednesday’s event, Laredo’s Mayor, Dr. Victor D. Trevino, City Managers, and the directors of four departments, congratulated the honorees and presented them with a plaque and a certificate, as a symbol of gratitude for their service to the community of Laredo. The employees recognized were the following:

Irma Castillo – 40 years – Laredo Public Health Department

Rene Alvarado – 39 years – Laredo Police Department

Ricardo Hernandez – 36 years – Laredo Police Department

Eduardo Rogerio – 31 years – Laredo Police Department

Juan A. Garcia – 31 years – Laredo Police Department

Andrea Flores – 30 years – Laredo Police Department

Jose G. Moreno – 31 years – Laredo Fire Department

Hilda Castillo – 30 years – Tax Assessor/Collector Office

Not in attendance but also awarded with their recognition were Mr. Joe Lombrana and Mr. Felix Castaneda for their 36 years of service with the Laredo Police Department. The City of Laredo looks forward to continuing this program, honoring many more employees who have made a lasting impact through their commitment to public service.
