(Laredo, Texas)-It’s always been a combined team effort that propels South Laredo’s Suga Show Basketball Team to victory and last night was no exception. In a tight game against Team Asap which played every minute relentlessly a depleted Suga Show lineup set its eyes on teammates who stepped up to help their team finish the night with a 70-49 win.
Evelio “Billy” Rodriguez has the biggest game of his young A Division career contributing 10 points as a starter filling in the gap for position players who could not make the game due to work commitments.
Rodriguez realizing the importance of his role in last night’s game stepped his game up to hustle as always on both sides of the court using his body to pound and tire out his opponents as he grasped for every possible rebound within reach. His patience as a role player has paid off dividends adding an extra dimension of defensive play to his team.
Joshwa Palacios started his game last night determined to help his teammates win as he played with a passion to make sure that last night’s slim lead didn’t fall thru the cracks. Palacios has contributed points on the board during the start of this season in which only two games have been played. He finishes his night with 16 points helping secure a win which could have gone either way last night.
Jesus “Chuy” Cisneros comes into play with the same mindset to help his team when his name is called into play. Last night Cisneros comes in the final 2 minutes of the second half shooting 2 three- point shots to add to the scoreboard while playing a strong defense
This is Cisnero’s second season with the team proving to be a valuable asset as he takes advantage of given opportunities.
Both Tony Garza and Leonardo Campos add more depth to the team playing superb defense while handling the ball on the offensive side with master technique as they allow their teammates to get into scoring position.
Suga Show continues its winning ways not because of individual players who look at piling up their own individual stats they win playing together as a team.
