(Mcallen, Texas)-After significant investments in the building’s façade, including landscaping with native plants, pavers, lighting, bench replacement, paint, and a new selfie wall mural to boot, City of McAllen officials were joined by the McAllen Heritage
Center representatives and community leaders to host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the building’s improvements. The new McAllen mural was commissioned to local McAllen artist Lupe Hernandez.
The artwork features iconic McAllen landmarks and symbols, and even depicts the museum when it was the city’s post office. The McAllen Heritage Center is recommitting itself to being the local treasure trove of historical information and memorabilia of all things McAllen.
