United ISD Announces AP Scholar Award Recipients

(Laredo, Tx)-UISD is proud to announce that 185 students from the District have earned AP (Advanced Placement), Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on corresponding exams.

Seven students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. The students are David E. Gonzalez, Ryan Moncivais, Pedro A. Perez, Juan D. Villarreal, and Paden F. Zimmermann from United High School; Daniella E. Morales and Eva S. Nance from Alexander High School.

Thirty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. The students are Carlos Casellas Garza, Lilia I. Elizondo, Roberto D. Hernandez, Daniela Medina, Alma C. Mireles, Daniella E. Morales, Eva S. Nance, and Jose F. Serna from J.B. Alexander High School; Alejandro Aguilar, Katia I. Alarcon, Armando D. Castillo, Jonathan Chau, Derian Compean, Pablo E. Elizondo, Juan Esparza, Mariana Flores-Sosa, David E. Gonzalez, Erika Gonzalez, Alejandro Gonzalez-Ayala, Jayven C. Lopez, Marcelo Marcos, Daniela Mares, Ryan Moncivais, Nikole E. Munson, Sebastian Ortiz, Mario G. Paez, Alejandra C. Perez, Pedro A. Perez, Evan A. Valls, Vanesa M. Vazquez-Esquivel, Carlos A. Velasquez, Juan D. Villarreal, and Paden F. Zimmermann from United High School.

Thirty-two students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. The students are Simran Moorjani, James A. Notzon, Priscilla L. Orozco, and Carlos M. Rangel from J. B. Alexander High School; Joanna P. Luna and Ricardo A. Vargas from L.B. Johnson High School; Ernesto Abrego, Marianne Bautista, Alejandro Canales, Anakaren Cantu, Destanie H. Doyal, Maria F. Espericueta, Karen A. Flores, Max V. Garza, Fernanda Gonzalez, Rurico F. Gutierrez, Almalena F. Hinojosa, Ethan B. Koroma, Edward H. Maddox, Mauricio Madrazo, Andrea C. Manrique, Eric A. Martinez, Alyssa Y. Mercado, Ricardo Morales-Ruiz, Leticia J. Moreno, Sophia Q. One hundred twenty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. The students are Cheryl M. Breland, Abigail Nunez, and Serena Z.
