Town hall meetings and online survey will help gather community input
(McAllen, TX) Ever wonder how your favorite McAllen park got built? Chances are, it was a citizen’s great idea, and now, the City of McAllen Parks & Recreation Department needs new ideas for new parks. The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department requests all government entities develop a Parks & Recreation Master Plan every 10 years with an update every five years.
The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Master Plan was last developed in 2007 and is looking to update and develop a new plan.
In order to make sure that all citizens, regardless of age, are able to share their ideas and suggestions about current or new parks and programming, the McPRD is hosting a series of town hall meetings throughout McAllen, to hear from residents about what they would like to see in the future at McAllen parks.
