Educational Administration Conference Focusing on STEM Futures Set at TAMIU Saturday, Jan. 23

(Laredo, Texas)-A daylong conference focused on educational leadership influencing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) futures is scheduled at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the TAMIU Student Center Ballroom.
“Leaders: Influencing STEM Futures” is presented by the University’s College of Education, as part of an annual educational administration leadership conference.
The Conference will feature Shayla Rivera, a renowned actor, writer-producer, humorist, and motivational speaker, in addition to 22 sessions by experts in critical areas like “Building STEM Capacity in Aspiring Leaders” and “Educational Policies Impacting STEM Teaching & Learning.”
Other session topics will include “Critical Leadership Tools for Improving STEM Learning in Every Classroom,’ “Girls Can STEM,” “School Culture and Student Performance,” and “New Narratives to Mentor Hispanic STEM Students,” among other topics.
Continuing Professional Education Credit (CPE) will be available and continental breakfast and lunch is included in the Conference fee. The bulk of sessions will be held in the Student Center.
Registration fees prior to Friday, Jan. 22 are $135.00 for adults and $50 for students. Registration after Jan. 22 and onsite will be $145 and $50 for students.
