(Laredo, Tx)-Mayor Raul G. Salinas met with 38 students from Lanesboro High School all the way from Lanesboro, MN this morning in front of the General Zaragoza statue at Plaza San Agustin. The students paid rapt attention to the Mayor’s words and were an easy going audience as the Mayor spoke to the traditions, festivals and tendencies of this border community.
The student group was lead by Dave Zimmer with Hawkeye Stages motor coach company and stayed the night at La Posada Hotel and were on their way to explore more of Texas today through next Wednesday. The motor coach carrier makes this an annual trek into Texas and specifically, every December into Laredo, where the Mayor has now welcomed and spoken to approximately 4 students groups over the past years.
