(Laredo, Tx)- Mayor Salinas has been going up on the roofs of area businesses in Laredo for the past 20 years, collecting toys, blankets, food and other such for the neediest in our community, because he is all for helping the community.
This 21st year will be no different as Mayor Salinas joins his friends from Guerra Communications and McDonald’s own Mike Marasco to camp out on the rooftop of McDonald’s to help collect toys, blankets, coats, monetary donations and other such items for Laredo’s needy. All items will be donated to Toys for Tejanitos and local non-profit organizations that assist the needy in our community.
“During these tough times, it is more important than ever to give to those less fortunate than us,” said Mayor Salinas. “Thanks to our sponsors and partners, this will already be a great initiative, but I know that with the community’s support, this rooftop collection drive will be very successful, especially as it’s my 21st year of doing this for the less fortunate.”
Additionally, the famous Z-93 sleigh will be parked in front of the store, broadcasting updates every hour on the hour. Salinas will set foot on the roof this morning at 10 a.m.
