Laredo, Texas  – On June 20th, 2011,  a tipster recognized the  mug-shot of Luis Miguel Alaniz, 28 years of age, a fugitive on the run, a call was made out to the Crime Stoppers anonymous TIPS line.  The caller stated that he recognized the mug-shot of Alaniz and immediately called authorities.   Luis Miguel Alaniz was wanted for outstanding warrants issued by the 49 District Court for possession of marijuana (750 pounds) and a State Warrant for criminal non-support.  He was arrested at the 5500 block of San Bernardo and transported to the Webb County Jail in lieu of no bond.  Alaniz has been arrested previously for possession of marijuana, assault and family violence.

“I urge the public to continue to use our Crime Stoppers Tip Line.  Thanks to a concerned citizen that made the call to the TIPS line, we were able to capture one of our most wanted subjects in Webb County. Recently, we implemented Man Hunt Fridays and we know that it has been a great success because of this arrest and others as well.  Crime Stoppers pays and it works! If you have any information on a wanted subject please call (956) 727-TIPS”.  Stated Sheriff Martin Cuellar.
