Boxer Gets Restitution

Mandy Fuentes is a local Superfly Division Female Boxer. Mandy was born and raised in Laredo, attended JB Alexander High School and is now a rising star in the boxing ring. She was recently the victim of a hot check and knew that the law was on her side. I am happy to report that after turning her check over to the DA’s office, she was able to receive full restitution.
Today, Mr. Alaniz presented Mandy and her family with a check in the amount of $800 that was obtained as part of our Round Up. Mandy stated to us, “I am so happy that the DA was able to help me. I have always been interested in the criminal justice system and have family in law enforcement. Now, I may pursue a career in law enforcement.”
We, at the District Attorney’s Office, wish Mandy all the best in all her endeavors and we are proud to be able to help good, hardworking people that deserve to be compensated for their efforts.
