Sheriff’s Deputies Seize 4 Million Dollars Worth of Narcotics

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at approximately 7 p.m., Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies in conjunction with Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted an investigation that led them to the 4500 block of Santa Anita. Upon arrival, officers seized 516 pounds of cocaine at an estimated street value of 4 million dollars wholesale value. The street value is approximately 12 million dollars. In addition, One semi automatic handgun with ammunition, 4 thousand dollars in US currency and drug paraphernalia (narcotics packaging material) were seized. Jesus Said Santos Preciado was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony 1. Presiado is also facing federal charges.
“This seizure is the result of a detailed investigation. Our Deputies intercepted a large amount of drugs from going to the streets and the children of Webb County. I continue my commitment in keeping our community safe.” Stated Sheriff Martin Cuellar.
